1.) There seems to be a major lack of professionalism within Judy’s Book. Your entire staff (and possibly even you as well) have so kindly dubbed your members of Judy’s Book with nicknames. The very same members that have made your website work. For instance, one of the members of Judy’s Book who has written, as of today, 1,589 reviews has been nicknamed “Bleach Blonde Bimbo” by your staff. Another trio of your members, one of which currently runs weekly contests for you, have been nicknamed “The Three Little Pigs”.  What’s worse, your staff openly admits this to other members of Judy’s Book.

2.) I’d like to thoroughly address the “cookbook fiasco” of the month of August. You stated “The cookbook idea was the suggestion of our members — not some greedy plan by Judy’s Book management.” Let’s clear that little bit of information up-

The cookbook idea was created by a member of the name Misty. She had this idea that members of Judy’s Book could submit recipes to her, and she would put together a cookbook. Everyone that submitted a recipe, would receive a copy of the cookbook. See here: http://www.judysbook.com/members/Arielyn/questions/7092/

Notice this statement in her post: “Please note: this has not been “sanctioned” by JB, so it will be strictly a community effort! “

And this post. Nowhere was it stated that it would be given to us as our CE reward:

But then members were surprised to learn that the cookbook CD along with a $10 Starbucks gift card would be their reward for August. Even those that never submitted a recipe and didn’t even want the cookbook were forced to receive this as their reward. Also, those that submitted recipes for the cookbook and were not City Editors, or didn’t write their minimum amount of reviews, didn’t receive one.

Would the members also be happy to know that Misty recieved extra incentives that month? Oh whoops! You wanted to keep that quiet….

Professionalism? Yeah, it’s sorely lacking.

I first joined Judy's Book http://www.judysbook.com/ for a Barnes and Noble promotion they were doing. The promotion consisted of writing 50 reviews for a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card or 100 reviews for a $100 gift card. While writing my reviews, I genuinely started enjoying the site. I found that I liked writing reviews, and soon made "friends" with other members of the site. I enjoyed reading others' reviews and contributing in interesting topics of conversation. Since then though, the site has seemingly gone downhill.Judy's Book management (if that's what you can call it) needs some serious help or rather, overhaul. Many members have complained of giving management feedback, and management taking days or weeks to respond back. Sometimes they never even receive a response back. I've experienced this myself.
